As alumni, parents, and friends of Camp Kingswood, we offer volunteering opportunities which engage those aspects of your life of which you are most passionate. To be successful alumni organization we need your help. Contact us to volunteer for in one of the areas below or let us know your ideas for how you want to become involved.
Volunteer Roles-Friends of Camp Kingswood
Social Captains and Members
Looking to build small committees from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10’s. These committees will be responsible for helping to spread the word about the “Friends of Camp Kingswood” organization. Members will also look to build broad coalitions of former campers and staff from the various decades to attend regional gathering during the year and help build attendance for the annual gathering at Camp Kingswood in August. Committee members will make at least a nominal donation yearly. Committee Captains will update the board bi-monthly. The job of a social captain is to ongoingly engage and interact with alumni of the camp, and be sure that they don’t forget about Kingswood. You will handle the social media accounts on at least a weekly basis. Posting photos, engaging with alumni and parents and sourcing creative and interesting posts to share. We need to stay relevant and the social media person is going to be in charge of doing so.
Content and Marketing Committee
Members of this committee will continue to build content for the website and other social media platforms. This goal of this committee will be to increase the stickiness of the website and build awareness of the organization. A task may include helping to create invitations, scanning old photos and yearbooks. Committee members will make at least a nominal donation yearly. The chair will update the board bi-monthly.
Kingswood Fund Committee
Members of this committee will help with fundraising. These individuals should be comfortable with approaching individuals and corporations for donations. It would be helpful if one or members had grant writing experience. Committee members will make at least a nominal donation yearly. The chair will sit on the board as a member.
Grants Research
Grants will most likely be the lifeblood of the work that we do with the Friends of Camp Kingswood group. Researching, identifying, and writing the grants are what this person will be tasked with doing. Must have h3 writing and communication skills, as well as an ability to devote several hours per month to do the grant research and writing. Friends of Camp Kingswood Board-We are seeking 3-5 new board members (over a two year period). Board members may or may not have attended Camp Kingswood, but will have a passion for the mission of camping. Board members are expected to include Kingswood in their philanthropic portfolio and have the Camp as a primary benefactor.
Events
Planning, coordinating, organizing and making sure the event is amazing is what you will be tasked with. This includes also recruiting attendees through individualized outreach, promoting on social media, and much all of the legwork. You may also need to coordinate reservations, food arrangements, and other individual details.
